Smart lighting or connected lighting has been a rapidly growing market for many years. Driven by progressive miniaturization, simplification and plenty of integration options, there is rarely a technological hurdle in the way of greater connection of building control including lighting.
In addition, there are more and more government subsidies and regulations to construct sustainable and efficient buildings or to modernize existing buildings to that level.

In all application scenarios, modern lighting control plays a central role in increasing lighting comfort and reducing energy consumption (CO2 / usage phase). There is great potential here through tailor-made scenes and the inclusion of sensor data for both requirements.

SMALL WONDERS, BIG IMPACT

With the IN.finite™ control solutions from LED Linear™, a strong reduction of greenhouse gases (CO2, etc.) of our luminaires during the use phase is possible. This phase, also known as Scope 3 from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), is the only way for the end user of the luminaire to keep greenhouse gas emissions as low as possible through adapted control and the use of clever sensor technology. With the help of motion detection, brightness detection and control intelligence, the light of our luminaires can only be switched on in the required illuminance and color where and when it is needed.

Energy savings office buildings

By integrating intelligent controls and sensors, energy savings of 30% can be achieved in typical office buildings.

Energy savings production site or storage area

In the case of warehouses or production facilities, savings of up  to 60% can be achieved by switching off or dimming areas without activities and only switching to a higher light level when necessary.

Demand oriented light control at night

During the night, intelligent control can reduce energy consumption and light pollution by minimizing brightness and increasing it only when people are present.

Automated human centric lighting

Thanks to a programmed and adaptable daylight rhythm, the colour temperature can be simulated to the typically prevailing daylight situation, even indoors. This adaptation affects melatonin production and contributes to well-being.

Automated light scenes

The control of RGB / RGBW / CCT light installations and their dynamics can be programmed over any period of time by means of scenes and animations and thus creates automatically running lighting effects.

The 4CH IN.finite™ CASAMBI uses the proven CASAMBI BLE radio technology to control constant voltage-operated LED lights and light engines with up to four channels. The low standby consumption and the possibility of direct combination with sensors and switches enable sustainable and demand-oriented control of the connected luminaires.

DALI® (digitally addressable light interface) is a wired (2-wire DALI® bus) and established communication standard for building lighting. Due to the wide acceptance in many lights and accessories from many manufacturers, almost all application scenarios are covered. A power supply for the DALI® bus and, in most cases, an application controller are required for operation. The most commonly used lighting control standards are DALI® DT6 and DALI® DT8.

DALI® version DT6

DALI® DT6 is primarily used to control lights and LED strips with only one light color. This can then be switched on and off and dimmed, for example. Each DT6 channel is its own DALI address. For solutions with tunable white, two addresses would be necessary. The DT8 version is recommended for those systems.

DALI® version DT8

The DALI® DT8 standard combines several individual light channels in one DALI® address and is therefore ideal for controlling multi-channel lights. For lights with adjustable white, the intensity and color temperature can be easily adjusted using an address. DT8 has 2 main modes, RGBWAF for up to 6 colored channels and Tc (color temperature) mode for tunable white.

LED Linear™ offers these two most used DALI® control options with our in-house developed IN.finite™ DALI® DT6 and DT8 products, which can be used in combination with all constant voltage operated luminaires and linear light engines from LED Linear™.
